Policy Statement for Shoosmiths LLP and any other subsidiary or group companies
The Partners of Shoosmiths LLP and any subsidiary companies recognise their moral and legal obligations and responsibilities with regard to health and safety and act upon the same, providing sufficient resources are provided to ensure compliance.
It is our policy to take all reasonably practicable steps to ensure the following:-
- the provision and maintenance of safe and healthy working conditions, safe equipment and systems of work for all our employees, together with the provision of such information, training and supervision as is necessary for this purpose;
- the collection and appropriate dissemination of up-to-date information on health hazards and risks associated with the use of substances encountered in our work activities;
- the health and safety of others who may be affected by our work activities including clients, visitors, contractors and employees in the course of their work activities, and members of the public.
The allocation of duties in relation to safety matters and the particular arrangements to implement the policy is set out in the Planning, Implementation, Delivery and Monitoring sections of the full policy document which constitute an integral part of this Policy.
The Policy will be amended and updated to take account of business changes, methods, growth and personnel. To ensure this, the Policy and the way it has operated will be reviewed at least annually. Due consideration will be given to consultation with employees affected before any material changes are made.
Copies of the Policy will be provided to all employees, and those parts of the Policy that affects contractors and visitors will be issued to them.
We will strive to work for the ongoing integration of safety into our offices with the objective of attaining the highest standards in safety performance and seek the co-operation of all concerned in the carrying through of our commitment.
