Danielle is a Senior Associate and Head of the Employment team in the Manchester office.
Danielle has experience of acting for a range of clients in relation to contentious and non-contentious employment matters. She has particular experience of advising clients within the financial services, insurance and retail sectors.
Danielle advises on the full breadth of employment law issues, including disciplinaries and grievances, long-term absence and disability, restructuring, TUPE and reward. Danielle has extensive experience of supporting clients in relation to collective redundancy programmes and business re-organisations. She regularly advises clients in relation to executive exits and assists in preparing and negotiating settlement agreements. Danielle supports clients in relation to drafting employment agreements and policies and previously managed a review of over 60 policies for a national PLC organisation.
Danielle takes a pragmatic and commercial approach to employment law issues, whether in relation to strategic projects or day to day advice. Danielle takes time to understand clients’ business objectives and applies her technical knowledge accordingly, delivering advice in a straightforward and down to earth manner.
Danielle is an experienced litigator, regularly handling complex and high-value unfair dismissal, discrimination and other claims in the Employment Tribunal and Employment Appeal Tribunal. Danielle recently represented a national retail client in relation to sensitive disability discrimination and sexual harassment proceedings at both tribunal and appeal stages.
Danielle is a regular speaker at client update seminars and has experience of delivering client training, both through public courses and in-house.
Danielle trained at Pinsent Masons and joined Shoosmiths as an Associate in August 2013. Danielle was promoted to Senior Associate in May 2015.
