Lizzie is a solicitor in the firm’s Commercial Group, based in the Thames Valley.

Lizzie has experience working with a diverse range of clients on non-contentious commercial, IT and data protection matters across various industry sectors, including retail, manufacturing, telecoms, FMCG, media and creative industries, tourism and automotive.

Recent work handled by Lizzie includes assisting:

·         a leading MVNO to deliver a multi-million pound acquisition of core network and IT security software, including development, maintenance and support services;

·         a FTSE 250 provider of serviced office space on the outsourcing of the facilities management of its UK estate;

·         a newly established UK Ombudsman with the formulation of an accreditation scheme and drafting of its subscriber terms and conditions;

Lizzie has also been working with the national Data Protection team to carry out GDPR compliance audits for clients and reviews of standard terms and conditions in readiness for the coming into force of the GDPR in May 2018.

Lizzie understands the competing demands faced by in-house legal teams, and draws on her recent experience on secondment at Hutchison 3G UK (Three Mobile), Coca-Cola Enterprises and Thomas Cook to deliver advice which is commercially relevant and tailored to her client’s strategic objectives.

Whilst on secondment, Lizzie has been praised by her clients for her ‘approachability’ and her drive to understand the business, paired with a ‘high quality output’ and consistent attention to detail. She has worked directly with procurement, sales and technical teams to deliver both strategic and business-as-usual projects in a timely and practical manner.

Lizzie joined Shoosmiths as a paralegal in the Corporate Banking and Finance team in July 2011. She completed her training contract with the firm and qualified into the Commercial team in September 2015.
