Lucy is a professional support lawyer in the Real Estate practice group, specialising in property litigation. She is responsible for keeping the team abreast of the latest developments in case law and legislation, providing training and managing and producing website and journal articles both for legal advisors and external publication.
Prior to her current role, Lucy practised in property litigation for 7 years, acting for several household-name clients including commercial landlords and tenants, insolvency practitioners, and local businesses. During this time she had experience in advising on the full spectrum of property issues: all aspects of landlord and tenant litigation including dilapidations, service charges, arrears of rent, rent reviews, lease renewals, enforcement of lease covenants and forfeiture; mortgage possession claims; property related professional negligence; party wall disputes and adverse possession; actions against trespassers; easements and restrictive covenants.
Lucy studied at the University of Nottingham, gaining an honours degree in History. She then completed the Graduate Diploma in Law at Birmingham College of Law followed by the Legal Practice Course at the Oxford Institute of Legal Practice before starting her training contract with Gateley in 2005. Upon qualification in 2007 she moved to Eversheds before joining Shoosmiths in May 2011, being promoted to Associate in August 2012 and becoming a professional support lawyer in January 2015.
Lucy is a member of the Property Litigation Association.
