Rebecca Calden-Storr is an Associate in the Birmingham office. With over 12 years’ experience, Rebecca joined Shoosmiths in late 2014.
Whilst regularly instructed on all financial aspects of family breakdown (including divorce, separation and cohabitation), Rebecca’s specialism is difficult cases involving children. These include where parents cannot agree on issues such as:
• Contact and residence
• Education and school fees
• Religious disputes
Rebecca has particular expertise in cases involving allegations of psychological and physical abuse and parental alienation.
Rebecca is frequently instructed on protracted and complex Court proceedings involving multiple parties, fact-finding hearings and appeals. She regularly consults with independent expert social workers, psychologists and cognitive therapists. Her cases often call for the commission of reports involving blood, alcohol, drug and hair strand testing.
Alternative Dispute Resolution
Rebecca has an interest in alternative dispute resolution and seeks to resolve matters quickly outside of the traditional Court process. She often supports clients “behind the scenes” in negotiations and mediation, or directly at “round table meetings”.
She is also a keen advocate of private arbitrations and is one of a handful of solicitors nationally to have had a case involving children decided in this binding, swift and cost-effective way.
Rebecca’s clients range from stay at home parents, to professionals, business owners and high-net worth individuals. She offers her clients the benefit of her first-class litigation/ADR background, combined with practical, robust and empathetic advice.
Testimonials from clients include:
