Scott is an Associate in the Belfast office.
He studied law at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne and qualified as a solicitor in 2008.
He began his career as a defence lawyer in the insurance litigation department of one of Northern Irelands leading commercial law firms before crossing the divide and joining one of the provinces busiest plaintiff litigation firms. This prepared him well for his next move which was to lead the Dispute Resolution Team at McManus Kearney. In December 2016 McManus Kearney merged with Shoosmiths.
Scott now primarily acts for creditors, finance houses, debt purchase companies and suppliers of goods and services in recoveries actions brought under regulated and unregulated agreements. He also advises these clients on aspects of the Consumer Credit legislation and the Consumer Rights Act. More generally, Scott acts for business clients of the firm involved in litigation in Northern Ireland.
