I am a senior solicitor in the personal injury department at Access Legal Solicitors. I act on behalf of injured people and deal with a wide range of cases including stress at work, workplace illness and disease claims, accidents at work and military claims.

I am passionate about supporting injured people. To me this involves more than providing high quality legal advice and ensuring a fair settlement. It is about treating a client as an individual with specific needs and requirements. It is about listening to a client and understanding his/her concerns. It is about giving a client continuing support and guidance.

Many of my clients live with complex conditions in challenging circumstances. My clients have suffered life-changing injuries and have developed serious illnesses. My job is to support these individuals and their families through the legal process and help them come to terms with what has happened in order to move forward in a positive way. My ethos is to treat all clients with dignity, respect and sensitivity. This approach has been endorsed by many of my clients over the years:-

I acted for Karen who became ill due to bullying at work.

Karen said: “From the first day of instruction to settlement my solicitor Sharine Burgess at Access Legal Solicitors has been amazing. Not only a professional, knowledgeable solicitor but someone who listened and always kept me fully informed of what was happening with my case. Sharine also prepared me for each stage and managed my expectations as the case progressed. Taking legal action can be a scary prospect but instructing Sharine at Access Legal Solicitors was the best decision I have ever made. I would have no hesitation recommending her.”

I acted for Malcolm who suffered a back injury at work which lead to him losing his job and being unable to work.

Malcolm said: “My solicitor was wonderful. It was due to her patience, skill and persistence that I achieved the result that I did. I cannot praise her highly enough.”
