Shoosmiths shortlisted for prestigious consumer credit award

02 May 2008

Shoosmiths has been shortlisted in this year’s prestigious Credit Today Awards.

The national law firm is in line to scoop the Consumer Credit Team of the Year category when the Awards are presented by comedian Lenny Henry at London’s Grosvenor House, on 15 May.

Seven other organisations have been shortlisted: Admiral Group, Britannia Building Society, Clydesdale and Yorkshire Banks, HBOS, iQor Recovery Services, and Robinson Way.

The Awards – the original and most established in the credit industry – recognise and reward top performers in the credit sector.

And Shoosmiths’ Finance Litigation and Recoveries (FLR) team has been renamed: it will now be called Lender Services.

Partner and head of Lender Services Waine Mannix said: “In the past 12 months the FLR team has grown significantly.

“We have added a new financial services regulation and compliance team, which is expert in the fields of consumer credit, asset finance and leasing, advising major international companies and smaller organisations in the financial services market.

“And Joanne Davis – voted specialist Litigator of the Year at the 2007 Credit Today Awards – heads our new team in Birmingham specialising in finance litigation and regulation.

“It means we now offer clients more than just finance litigation and recoveries – in addition collections, regulation and compliance – and we felt Lender Services better explains our expanded offering.”
