Shoosmiths' Sean is Dealmaker of the Year

Sean Wright, head of Shoosmiths Corporate finance team in the South, has been named Dealmaker of the Year at the prestigious Solent Deals Awards.

The award recognises Wright as the most active and high profile dealmaker in the region's corporate finance community.

His was one of 10 awards presented at a glittering black tie dinner at Southampton Football Club’s St Mary’s Stadium.

Wright has advised on a number of local transactions including the sales of Dean & Dyball to Balfour Beatty for £45m and Quantum Research Group ($130m), the secondary buyout of Pims Pumps and the management buyout of Electranet Limited.
 
He also advised August Equity in a secondary buy-out of Accura Support Services Limited (£37m), LDC in a secondary buy-out of Leasedrive Velo (£80m); and acted for RBS in the acquisition by DLJ Merchant Banking Partners of Education and Adventure Travel (£100m).

Wright said: “Considering the prevailing economic climate, particularly during the second half of the year, it has been a very successful 12 months, and it’s hugely gratifying to have that success recognised with this award.”

The latest edition of legal directory Chambers calls Wright ‘a leader in his fields of banking and finance, and corporate finance’; while Legal 500 says he is ‘considered to be the best corporate lawyer on the South coast’.
