Shoosmiths wins inaugural litigation team award

Shoosmiths has been named Litigation Team of the Year at the prestigious Credit Today Awards 2009 - at the first time of asking.

Part of the national law firm’s Lender Services Unit, the litigation team was praised for the ‘variety and standard of its services’.

The new category attracted high quality entrants, including Pannone, Brethertons, Harper Macleod, and Weightmans.

The Marston Group-sponsored award was presented to partner and head of Lender Services Waine Mannix by comedian Dara O’Briain, at a ceremony at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel.

Mannix said: “Given the number of finalists in what was a tough category, we thought our chances were slim. So we were surprised – and absolutely thrilled – to be named the best litigation team of the year.

“It is recognition indeed for a year of very hard work on the part of every member of the team. This success will undoubtedly raise our profile further in what is a very competitive field, emphasising to the sector the experience, knowledge and results we bring to clients' businesses.”

Shoosmiths’ Lender Services litigation services include asset and receivables finance litigation and recoveries; and residential mortgage rehabilitation, litigation and sales.

Credit Today is the leading commercial and consumer credit industry magazine, and this year saw its annual awards mark their tenth anniversary.
