Shoosmiths runners top £500 for Asbestos Support West Midlands

11 September 2009

Sara Hunt, Kirsty Collins and Kishma Small from Shoosmiths' Birmingham office raised £569.97 for Asbestos Support West Midlands when they ran the Great Midlands Fun Run.

The teammates were sponsored by colleagues, family and friends, whose donations were then matched by the national law firm.

Asbestos Support West Midlands helps people suffering from asbestos-related diseases by providing free and confidential support to them and their families.

It also campaigns for strict enforcement of regulations and legislation to protect current workers and communities from exposure to asbestos.

Sara, an associate and personal injury specialist, said: “It was a pleasure being able to support the group in this way, and although the run was hard work, it was an enjoyable day and a worthwhile cause to be involved in.

“It was a real privilege to be able to present the group with a cheque. It works tirelessly to provide support to those affected by asbestos-related illness.”
