Shoosmiths secures commercial property advisory role
08 October 2009
Commercial property specialists from the Thames Valley office of national law firm Shoosmiths have been selected by McKay Securities PLC to become their principal real estate legal adviser.
The new account was won by two of Shoosmiths’commercial property partners Alan Corcoran and Andrew Farmery.
Corcoran will be heading the team, and Farmery and solicitor Jennifer Campbell will provide day-to-day support for McKay Securities.
Commenting on the appointment, Simon Perkins managing director of McKay Securities, said:
“With many good legal firms in the Thames Valley we had a wide choice, but were particularly impressed with the fresh approach of Shoosmiths. Their enthusiastic team offers a wide range of skills based in the centre of our operating area.
“The team spent a considerable amount of time with us to ensure that the service they were offering was tailored to our specific needs and would compliment the active approach we take to portfolio management.
“We’re very much looking forward to working with Alan and his team and to building on this new partnership.”
Corcoran said: “McKay Securities has an excellent reputation in the Thames Valley area, and are a major new high profile client for us.
“We’re thoroughly looking forward to working closely with McKay Securities on their various projects, and to helping the client further enhance its reputation in the market by providing top legal expertise.”
McKay Securities PLC is a commercial property investment company with Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) status, specialising in the development and refurbishment of quality buildings within established and proven markets of London and South East England. Completed projects are generally retained for long term growth within the group's portfolio, valued in excess of £220m.
