Seminars prepare clients for CCD-Day
08 June 2010
With the Consumer Credit Directive (CCD) set to introduce substantial changes to consumer creditr legislation, Shoosmiths' Lender Services Group has been helping clients prepare for it by providing practical advice.
Starting in 2008, the Lender Services Group has hosted a number of seminars as part of an ongoing campaign to get clients ready for the introduction of the CCD on 1 February 2011.
They proved so popular that two more have just been held, once more aimed at project managers; heads of compliance, risk, and legal; and others in charge of CCD implementation.
Presented by Jo Davis and Natalie Evans, the seminars attracted representatives from several blue chip finance clients.
They learned about a wide range of issues, including the scope of CCD, changes to existing legislation, assessing consumer creditworthiness, pre-contract obligations, and early settlement rights.
Shoosmiths' Financial Services Regulatory Team was also on hand to offer an insight into the new regulations, explain what action lenders need to take, share best practice, and host a Q&A forum.
Attendee feedback was universally positive, with everyone saying the content was relevant, timely, and well presented.
