Shoosmiths double strengthens motor finance offering

A double move within Shoosmiths Lender Services Group has strengthened its motor finance offering.

Kevin Parker has been appointed to lead the group’s 26-strong collections and portfolio management team, with a specialism in motor finance; while Roger Potgieter is promoted to partner and appointed to front the group’s motor finance litigation and recoveries operation.

Career collector Parker joins from Close Credit Management, and has 25 years’ experience in the retail finance and motor finance industries.

A member of the Institute of Credit Management, his specialisms include sales management, risk and collections management, training, and team management.

Potgieter joined the national law firm in 2004 and handles all aspects of asset finance and Consumer Credit Act litigation and recoveries.

His growing team has added new clients and is seeing an increase in motor finance litigation and recoveries.

Partner and head of Lender Services Group Waine Mannix said: “Kevin’s brief is to develop and manage the Northampton-based collections team, and in particular grow the portfolio management side of the business; while Roger takes on an expanding motor litigation team with a growing workload.

“It all adds up to extra strength and depth in our motor finance operation.”

Lender Services Group clients include finance houses, UK and European banks, manufacturer-owned motor finance companies, and independent asset finance and motor finance companies.
