Shoosmiths appoints new head of collections

Shoosmiths has appointed a new head of collections and portfolio management.

Kevin Parker will lead a 26-strong collections team, which is part of the national law firm’s Lender Services Group.

The financial services business development director and career collector joins from Close Credit Management, and has 25 years’ experience in the retail finance and motor finance industries.

A member of the Institute of Credit Management, his specialisms include sales management, risk and collections management, training, and team management.

Shoosmiths is one of only a handful of law firms with a dedicated collections team. Staffed and managed by career collectors, it deals exclusively with retail and motor finance debt recovery.

Clients include finance houses, UK and European banks, manufacturer-owned motor finance companies, and independent asset finance and motor finance companies.

Parker’s role will be to develop and manage the Northampton-based team, and in particular grow its portfolio management business.
