Shoosmiths wins more Thomas Cook work

Shoosmiths has beaten stiff competition to land more work for travel giant Thomas Cook UK & Ireland.

The national law firm headed a list of ten invited to tender for Thomas Cook UK & Ireland’s procurement, employment and property work

It is now sole provider of all procurement, employment and property legal services for the UK and Ireland division of Thomas Cook. These had been spread among several law firms, and Thomas Cook wanted to rationalise its supplier base, standardise service delivery and make cost savings.

Shoosmiths has handled Thomas Cook UK & Ireland’s procurement legal work for several years, and has established a strong working relationship with the leading travel company.

Michael Hallisey, legal director, Thomas Cook UK & Ireland said: “Although we know Shoosmiths well, it still had to prove to us that it was capable of taking on and handling extra work.

“This was a rigorous and challenging pitch procedure, and one that the Shoosmiths team responded to superbly. We know it will continue to work well alongside Thomas Cook’s in-house counsel.”
