Clients honour Shoosmiths partner at British Legal Awards

Shoosmiths is celebrating after its Partner, David Jackson, was presented with one of the legal profession's top accolades at this year's British Legal Awards, held in London last night.

Shoosmiths is celebrating after its Partner, David Jackson, was presented with one of the legal profession's top accolades at this year's British Legal Awards, held in London last night.

David, head of the technology, media & commercial practice at Shoosmiths was presented with the Client Partner of the Year award, based on exceptional feedback from clients in Legal Week's Client Satisfaction Survey.

Respondents to the Survey - which ranked Shoosmiths as the number 1 National Law Firm last year - were all asked to name their three most impressive client partners. More than 1400 clients shared their views about the performance of their law firms and voted for the partners who had impressed them the most over the last 12 months.

For the top 20 firms alone, judges and organisers received votes for 211 different partners and had to pick a shortlist of seven client partners from firms including Allen & Overy, Clifford Chance and Norton Rose Fulbright.

Polling more votes than any other partner in the UK, David Jackson said: 'I am honoured that clients have taken the time to provide such tremendous feedback about our work and I am thrilled that our strategy of putting clients at the heart of everything we do and providing great service has been recognised in this way.

'I have a fantastic and talented team working alongside me and so its with them that I share this award.'

Commercial practice group head, Peter Duff, said: 'Many firms talk about client service; but clearly it is in Shoosmiths' DNA. Every service innovation we have delivered in recent years has come about through listening to clients and working with them to find a better way of delivering advice, saving them time and money.

'David is an expert at this and we are proud his dedication in providing an exceptional client experience has been recognised nationally at this awards ceremony.'

Clients have said: 'David knows our industry well and provides pragmatic and commercially focused advice that's really relevant to us. If we need something to happen, he makes sure it gets done'

And, of David's team: 'I was very proud of Shoosmiths and my relationship with them. A good law firm relationship takes about five years to build up. Shoosmiths fast-tracked this and are at the top of my list. Shoosmiths would be my first port of call.'

David is Client Partner for a number of the firm's key clients including Jaguar Land Rover, Iron Mountain, The Law Society, OneSavings Bank, Macmillan Publishers and Cambridge University Press.
