Called Spotlight, it provides a fast, reliable, systemised review of business contracts by fully trained legal advisers and has a simple pricing menu.

Spotlight analyses a company's business contracts and identifies the commercially critical issues affecting that company, providing common sense solutions - as well as suggested amendments - in order to keep things moving forward.

National head of commercial, David Jackson, who helped develop the new service, said: "Spotlight is customised to the exact commercial needs of each organisation, transforming Shoosmiths' collective wealth of experience into a reusable contract reporting tool.

"Contracts are generated at many organisational levels and while all businesses vary in the way they control their exposure to legal risk, they all have one thing in common - finite resources and budgets to deal with that legal risk.

"Spotlight lets them have all their routine business contracts reviewed by UK-based contract specialists and manage risk consistently and cost effectively."

To ensure users get a rapid response in what are often time-critical situations, Spotlight guarantees a two- working day turnaround, with an optional expedited service for even shorter turnarounds.

Spotlight, which also features an online storage portal for storage of contract portfolios, will free-up in-house legal teams for higher value, strategic tasks.

The fixed-fee pricing, excluding VAT, is based on contract size. Spotlight has already attracted significant interest prior to its official launch, securing two brand new plc clients for Shoosmiths with number of other global corporates in advanced discussions with the firm.
