Shoosmiths acts for Chord on entire life-cycle of Jewellery Quarter project

National law firm Shoosmiths has worked with long-standing client Chord Investments Ltd to complete work on the sale, lease-back and refinancing of a large mixed-use scheme in Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter.

The scheme, St Paul's Place, combines 148 apartments and a substantial commercial office space off St Paul's Square.

Shoosmiths has acted for the developer, Chord, throughout the life-cycle of the project; advising initially on the site acquisition then development, funding, management and lettings.

Reflecting the complexities of the transaction, various Shoosmiths teams worked together for the client, including Paul Scott and Anna Wright in construction, Rosalind Andrews and Rebecca Bergin in planning and Tom Wilde in tax, led by David Perry in real estate.
