The company's 300th business centre in the UK is based at The Balance in the centre of Sheffield and opened in June. Regus, the world's leading provider of flexible workspace, has also just announced the opening of its 2000th worldwide hub in Boulder, Colorado in the United States.
The company now operates in 104 countries across the globe, providing a full range of business space and support services to SMEs, start-ups, individual entrepreneurs and large corporates.

Shoosmiths has acted for Regus for approximately 8 years. The team advises Regus on a range of contractual and commercial issues and offers advice to the company across the UK.

Reading-based real estate partner, Andrew Farmery, said: 'Working closely with Regus over several years means we have a great understanding of their business. Helping them secure the deal on their 300th business centre in the UK really marks a key milestone for Regus and we look forward to continuing to work with the company to expand their network and grow the relationship with them further in the years to come.'

John Spencer, CEO of Regus UK, said: 'We recently opened our 20th centre in Yorkshire at The Balance in Sheffield, taking the total number of centres in the UK to 300 and to 2000 globally. As in the US and other countries, demand for the Regus way of working in the UK continues to grow. Shoosmiths play a crucial role in advising our business and enabling us to achieve our goals. Their can-do, commercial approach is very much attuned to our own way of doing things.

'Based on our recent global research, more than a third (34%) of global businesses want to shed fixed office space this year. By switching to more flexible ways of working, firms can reduce fixed overheads on property and enjoy productivity benefits from smarter HR practices. Millions of businesses across more than 100 countries are now using the Regus network to reap these benefits.'

Shoosmiths' real estate practice is one of the largest real estate teams in the UK, spread over seven offices from the south coast to the North West with a team comprising 35 partners and 230 people in total.

The group is made up of teams advising on real estate, construction, planning, property litigation, and environmental. Clients include commercial and residential developers, investors, retail and leisure operators, social housing bodies, major corporate occupiers, banks and other funders and a range of public sector bodies.
