National law firm Shoosmiths is celebrating after being named 'Legal Provider of the Year' at the European Motor Finance Awards last night, complementing their award of the same name at the European Leasing Life Awards earlier in November.
Shoosmiths partner and national head of asset finance, Melanie Chell and asset finance partners Stephen Dawson and Roger Potgieter, flew to Munich, Germany, to collect the accolade at the Kempinski Hotel on 23 April.
The Shoosmiths asset finance team was judged to be best in its class by a panel of independent industry experts in areas including team expertise, visibility and influence in the marketplace, versatility, volume and complexity in work undertaken and most importantly, notable successes on behalf of clients.
Melanie Chell said: 'It is an honour to have won this prestigious award at the Motor Finance annual awards. Our clients are always put front and centre of everything we do at Shoosmiths, and winning this award following the 'Legal Provider of the Year' award we won earlier in the year at the European Leasing Life Awards is a terrific reflection of the breadth and depth of our growing team's expertise and the range of high profile asset finance work we advise on.'
This award win comes as more key hires are appointed to grow the successful team. Janet Dalton, head of financial services in Manchester, and asset finance partner Roger Potgieter joined from DWF earlier in the year, bringing with them associates Suzanne Taylor and Aleea Bhatoo, and solicitor Charlotte Healey.
Shoosmiths asset finance team advises industry leading clients on the full range of asset finance transactions, from small to medium ticket hire purchase transactions and vehicle leasing through to big ticket rail and aircraft operating lease structures and recoveries.
