National law firm Shoosmiths has grown its real estate team in Birmingham with the appointment of senior associate, Brian Hession.

Brian is a commercial property specialist, with a wealth of expertise particularly in commercial and mixed use property development, investment, funding and leasing. He joins from Davies & Partners, a niche commercial property firm based in Gloucester where he was head of commercial property.

Brian previously worked at Eversheds for 11 years in the Birmingham and Paris offices. He also has expertise in international real estate matters and is a fluent French speaker.

Brian said: 'It is an exciting time to join a top-tier real estate team with such a dynamic reputation in the industry.

Shoosmiths' real estate group is one of the largest in the UK, spread over eight offices from the south coast to the North West, comprising a team of more than 39 partners and 254 people.

The group is made up of teams advising on real estate, construction, planning, property litigation, and environmental.

Shoosmiths' clients include commercial and residential developers, investors, retail and leisure operators, social housing bodies, major corporate occupiers, banks and other funders and a range of public sector bodies.
