National law firm Shoosmiths has received impressive rankings in a leading industry diversity league table.
The firm, which prides itself on its diverse workforce, came eighth overall and fifth nationally in the UK100 Black Solicitors Network (BSN) Diversity League Table.
The firm continues to rank highly since the Diversity League Table's inception in 2006.
The table is an analysis of equality and diversity across four diversity strands of gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation and disabilities and the UK's leading firms and Chambers are invited to take part on a voluntary basis.
Participants are invited to answer a series of questions, via an online questionnaire, which primarily seek to establish their demographic make-up, as well as their approach to E&D policy and practices.
These results are presented as a series of individual profiles for each participant and then also as a series of leagues tables; ranking participants across the four diversity strands.
Shoosmiths' head of recruitment, Danielle Owens, said: 'Many organisations across a range of sectors talk about diversity, but it is quite another matter actually doing something about it. Ranking so highly in the BSN Diversity League table is further proof that Shoosmiths embraces diversity, believing it to be an integral part of its culture.'
She added: 'This has been another fantastic year for us, from Investors in People reaccrediting us with the coveted Gold Award, to topping the 2014 independent Legal Week Employee Satisfaction Survey.'
The DLT is the legal profession's leading diversity publication, produced in association and consultation with the Law Society.
