Shoosmiths is sponsoring the UK Private Bank of the Year and the International Private Bank of the Year categories in the Spear's Wealth Management Awards 2016.
Private wealth partners Charlotte Dunn and Jay Patel will be presenting both of these awards to the winning banks at the awards ceremony on 1 November held at the Dorchester Hotel, London.
Spear's is a wealth management and luxury lifestyle media brand which produces print and digital publishing and events for the ultra-high-net-worth community. The annual awards acknowledge excellence in many aspects of wealth management with categories for entrepreneurs, family offices, financiers, banks, property advisers and lawyers.
Shoosmiths' private wealth specialists advise family offices, entrepreneurs and business owners, individuals with inherited wealth and landed estates, as well as high profile individuals including sports and media personalities. The firm has recently expanded its team with the appointments of partners Jay Patel and Juliette Peters in its family team, Adam Draper to advise on wills and inheritance disputes and Melissa Maple to advise on wealth and asset protection.
Charlotte Dunn, head of wealth protection at Shoosmiths, commented: 'We have been advising clients on important personal and business decisions for more than 170 years but Shoosmiths is currently better known for its commercial legal services. Sponsorship of the Spear's Wealth Management Awards enables us to raise our profile with many of our existing clients as well as helping us build recognition with new contacts. Very few national law firms join their business law and private wealth services together as we do and this helps our clients combine preservation of their private wealth with their family needs, business ambition or philanthropic aims.'
As well as a range of family, wealth protection and real estate services, Shoosmiths' private wealth offering also includes advising on disputes involving luxury assets, leasehold enfranchisement, employment issues, tax, individual and family investment in commercial property/assets and corporate business transactions including succession planning.
