National law firm Shoosmiths has expanded its transport and infrastructure team with the hire of partner, Martin Fleetwood.
Martin has provided specialist legal advice to the transport sector for over 15 years, advising on a variety of transport-related projects including Manchester Metrolink, London Underground PPP, Crossrail, Nottingham Tram and the Channel Tunnel Rail Link. He has acted for a large number of significant players in the rail and road transport sectors including service operators, maintainers, sub-contractors, manufacturers, financiers and lessors of transport assets.
He joins Shoosmiths from Bevan Brittan where he advised clients on contractual structures, identifying risk, ensuring regulatory compliance and commercial opportunities. Martin is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Logistics and Transport, the secretary of UNIDROIT's Rail Working Group and as a regular speaker at industry conferences and author of legal transport articles has gained a solid reputation within the industry.
