What does working in HR involve?

The HR team covers the following areas:

  • Internal communications – including a monthly Team Brief, an internal magazine called SHout, CEO roadshows and an employee forum.
  • Learning & development – covering career development, management training and all staff development.
  • Pay & benefits – this team manages all matters concerning pay (our payroll is outsourced), remuneration reviews, pensions, holidays, private health care and all other insurance policies.
  • Recruitment – we manage all appointments into the firm at all levels.
  • Management information – we work on a software platform from PSE including HR, training and recruitment modules.
  • Generalist HR support – helping managers at both strategic and operational levels, the HR generalists have broad responsibility from individual staff counseling and support to departmental organisation and development and all matters concerning employment law.
  • Inclusivity – including pro-active projects to review and ensure the firm benefits from a broad range of employees each with a different contribution to make.
