Type of person we look for
What sort of person do we look for? It can be hard to differentiate ourselves from our competitors so you have to enjoy looking at new ways of doing things.
We like to say we are "different and better", so you can't be afraid to push the lawyers out of their comfort zone. So you'll need strong people skills: new ideas can be challenging to introduce and you have to be able to stand your ground.
You'll need common sense and a strong commercial approach. You'll be able to drive things forward and make them happen, often under considerable time pressure.
Don't be discouraged if you're reading this and thinking "But I don't have any legal marketing experience…". We know that good ideas don't just come from other law firms and as we like to be ahead of the game, experience from other sectors can be really helpful.
Anybody who is a team player with a "can do" attitude will do well at Shoosmiths.
