Conveyancing Executive - Lender Services Group

Our Lender Services Practice Group require a Conveyancing Executive to work in the Repossession Sales department.
The role reports into the Team Leader/ Head of Mortgage Recoveries, Sales and the successful candidate shoudl be competent in the technical elements necessary to provide a quality and comprehensive repossession sales service with a customer service focus. You are required to work in accordance with the Shoosmiths ValuABLE agreed behaviors and to lead, manage, encourage, motivate and develop as appropriate.
Key functions of the role include:
• Be completely familiar with the repossession sales process and to be familiar with the other teams in LSG such as Support, Operations, Accounts and Litigation and the work undertaken by the other LSG offices in Birmingham and Manchester.
• To deal competently with pre-contract enquiries recognising where more complex enquiries require referral.
• To verify legal titles to all freehold and leasehold properties and be able to deal with all elements of the transactions in respect of both private treaty and auction sales.
• Be responsible and accountable for files including meeting SLA requirements, ensuring payment of prior charges, dealing with registered interests and notices etc appropriately and referring those cases with a surplus to the appropriate team.
• Comply with all regulatory requirements such as money laundering and data protection at all times. Control and manage own caseload within the team using all IS resources and processes appropriately.
• Manage a workload effectively and ensure that files are run in an orderly manner with minimum administrative and accounting errors.
• Recognise problems and refer these appropriately.
• Use the most efficient methods possible in carrying out the work.
• Attend and complete any internal training sessions arranged at the reasonable request of the Team Leader.
• Attend external training courses as necessary to remain up to date with changes in the law and conveyancing procedures.
• Be aware of associated areas of law such as probate, insolvency and matrimonial law that may impact the conveyancing process.
• Deal with difficult telephone conversations with any of the key stakeholders in the conveyancing process confidently and calmly and refer as appropriate.
• Be aware of and observe the firm's and the Unit's policy regarding expression of dissatisfaction, treating customers fairly and undertakings as well as other initiatives that may arise from time to time.
• Draft non standard correspondence competently.
• To assist in effectively training Trainee Conveyancing Executives when required
• Become familiar with the wider aspects of the housing and conveyancing markets together with the financial services industry generally
• Provide management information and marketing for Clients to assist the Team Leader / Senior Conveyancing Executive when required.
• Attend internal and external meetings as required and assist in implementing changes to any departmental procedures.
• Support the Team Leader/Deputy Team Leader with marketing initiatives when required
