Legal Secretary - Lender Services Group

We are looking for an experienced, well organised and capable Legal Secretary for our busy Lender Services practice group.

This role anticipates flexibility by the individual in filling in with any initiatives the Firm/Department feels appropriate.

Current responsibilities include:

To provide a full typing service for fee earners and department using Shoosmiths systems to include the typing of technical documents using house styles. Maintaining an electronic diary.

The production of invoice proformas, pay in cheques, cheque withdrawals, TTs and other accounting tasks. Preparation of files for closure. Photocopying.

Maintaining files in an orderly manner and keep filing up to date as required.

Handling telephone calls on behalf of the fee earners in a professional and confidential manner and in accordance with our Quality procedures.

Taking accurate messages and pass on as soon as possible.

Accessing fee earner's emails regularly throughout the working day and in fee earner's absence to ensure clients receive a timely response.

Keeping precedent folders, memo files, training files etc up to date.

The successful candidate will be reliable and self motivated and will demonstrate good communication skills. Fast accurate audio and copy typing skills are essential together with experience of digital dictation. Full training will be given on Shoosmiths in-house systems and procedures.

Due to the nature of the work undertaken, confirmation of employment will be subject to a variety of checks which will be carried out once an offer of employment is accepted.
