Governance & regulation
It is critical that your association knows its rights and obligations. Our governance team ensures that the rules and constitutions are drafted to enable associations to meet their business needs.
To be effective, your board needs to be stable and focused, particularly given that they are often volunteers tasked with making decisions involving large sums of money and affecting the lives of many. Our team helps board members to be effective through training and advice on the policing powers of the Housing Corporation and the Charity Commission.
Our team can advise you on governance and regulatory issues:
- Amendments to rules or memorandum and articles of association
- Reorganising, creating and collapsing group structures
- Other mergers.
We regularly liaise with the Housing Corporation, the Department for Communities and Local Government, Companies House, the Charity Commission and the Financial Services Authority.
Our advice is always aimed at providing a practical solution and the best service for the association and its customers.
