Injury to your child
If your child has been injured and you believe this may be due to a medical accident you will understandably want an explanation and answers. If the injury was serious or has long term consequences your child may need compensation as well. Injuries to children are thankfully rare but can happen in a variety of ways including:
- During pregnancy where mother's treatment leads to an injury to her baby
- During child birth if staff fail to act on signs that your baby is in distress and needs urgent delivery
- Where there was a delay in diagnosing your child's condition
- Your child's condition was mis-diagnosed leading to incorrect treatment or no treatment
- Where incorrect or inappropriate treatment leads to further injury, a worsening condition or compromised recovery
Complications during surgery or other treatment that should not have happened if appropriate care had been given.
