Fraud
According to a recent economic crime survey carried out by one of the leading accountancy practices, 48% of UK companies have been the victim of fraud in the last two years.
We work with clients to develop their fraud prevention policies as well as a fraud response plan to help avoid some common pitfalls.
As soon as a fraud is suspected, our fraud response team will act quickly to help you preserve evidence, retrieve electronic data, protect assets and guide you through the minefield of human rights, data protection and employment issues that can often arise.
We have a wide range of experience in obtaining freezing orders to protect assets as well as search and seize and third party orders to obtain evidence.
We are also very used to working alongside the police if a criminal prosecution is sought.
We recently obtained freezing orders and document preservation orders for a UK plc which had been the victim of a complex fraud conspiracy spanning a number of years and involving multiple defendants. A financial recovery in excess of £1.2 million was ultimately achieved.
