Collision at work

Many workers are required to drive mechanised vehicles in the workplace. Where this occurs, there is a risk mechanized vehicles may collide with each other or other workers going about their duties on foot.

Employers are under a duty to ensure mechanized vehicles using the workplace cannot be driven too fast, and to ensure all the drivers and operators of those mechanized vehicles have been adequately trained in their use.

In accordance with the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 employers are to ensure:

Should you be injured because you have been involved in a collision involving mechanized vehicles at work, even if you think you were to blame or one of your colleagues was to blame, you may still have a claim for compensation against your employer.
