Compensation for client injured at home after builder’s negligence
28 May 2009
We acted for our client who broke his arm when the builders working on an extension to his property left hazardous building materials without providing sufficient notice or warning.
What we did
Shoosmiths was appointed to act on a no-win-no-fee basis and recovered compensation for pain and suffering, together with loss of earnings.
Background
The accident occurred when our client’s builders left building material – in particular, boards – lying around without providing sufficient warning of the dangers. Our client slipped on the boards, resulting in a broken arm. Our client, who is self-employed, was unable to work for approximately four weeks, returning part-time for two weeks. We recovered loss of earnings as a result.
Case handler
