Biker’s £45,000 for hand injury

07 May 2009

We successfully recovered £45,000 damages for a biker who sustained a hand injury after he was hit by a car.

What we did

Shoosmiths successfully obtained an admission of liability within a month of our instruction. Thereafter, we obtained medical reports to support the level of damage to our client’s hand. Our client remained in employment, but there was a risk that if he lost his job he would be handicapped on the open labour market due to his injuries. We successfully recovered compensation to cover this risk.

Background

The other party pulled out from a side road into the path of our client’s motorbike. Our client sustained an injury to his hand, which required surgery. He was left with scarring to the hand and restricted grip and flexion.
