Client’s £7,000 for shoulder injury

16 June 2009

Our client suffered injury to her right dominant shoulder in a road traffic accident.

What we did

We firstly secured an admission of liability from the defendant’s representatives at the outset of the claim.

We then obtained medical evidence from a consultant orthopaedic surgeon, who gave the opinion that the accident had caused symptoms in our client’s right shoulder to be brought forward by a period of two to three years.

We also included claims for financial losses comprising loss of earnings whilst absent following the accident and after surgery, in addition to claims for medical treatment and other miscellaneous expenses.

Background

The medical expert gave the opinion that our client’s injury to the right shoulder involved an acceleration of pre-existing symptoms by a period of two to three years.

Our client underwent an arthroscopy and open decompression surgery to investigate and assist her symptoms. She also underwent physiotherapy treatment to assist her recovery.
