Client injured by vehicle whilst turning into a driveway

07 September 2009

Shoosmiths obtained compensation for a client who was injured by a vehicle who was attempting to overtake whilst he was turning into a driveway

What we did

We obtained compensation for our client in the sum of £10,000 to include personal injuries, financial losses, the motor insurers outlay, treatment expenses and employers outlay.

Background

Our client was turning right off the main road when a vehicle approached from behind and overtook the queue of traffic, colliding with the offside of our client’s turning vehicle.

The matter was initially complicated as the third party driver was driving a hire vehicle at the time of the collision and there was some confusion with the third party’s insurance company being unable to locate details of that vehicle.  Indemnity issues were quickly resolved and an admission of liability obtained.

We obtained compensation for our client in the sum of £10,000 to include personal injuries, financial losses, the motor insurers outlay, treatment expenses and employers outlay.

Our client sustained injuries including a whiplash injury to the neck aggravating a pre-existing condition, bruising to the leg and shoulder and a brief loss of consciousness with no residual problems.
