Music Teacher suffers high frequency hearing loss and mild tinnitus
10 September 2009
Our client’s vehicle was hit on the driver’s side by a third party emerging from a side junction which failed to give way. The collision left our client with a hearing injury.
What we did
An admission of liability was obtained from the third party insurers and various medical reports obtained given the varying nature of our client’s injuries. An amicable settlement was agreed between the parties in excess of £30,000.
Background
Prior to the accident, our client was a music teacher specialising in the classical guitar. The injuries sustained in the accident initially reduced her quality of teaching due to neck discomfort, back pain, instability to her shoulder.
Additionally, the whiplash injury caused damage to the inner ear hair cells leading to high frequency deafness and mild tinnitus. Our client was able to return to her pre-accident employment.
Case handler
This case was handled by Kate Milton of the Serious Injuries Team based at our Basingstoke office. Kate specialises in claims arising from fatal and catastrophic injuries. Client testimonial
“I received excellent care and attention from both Mr Paul Whitlock and in the latter stages of my claim, Kate Milton. Had it not been due to the excellent care and attention from both solicitors my ordeal would have been so much more traumatic and harrowing. It was traumatic enough as it was and my sincere and heartfelt thanks to both Paul and Kate are most sincerely sent with this letter”.
