Easier immigration controls for some business travellers to the UK

The Registered Traveller service has been expanded to allow for faster entry through the UK border for Australian, Canadian, Japanese, New Zealand and American nationals.

The service is currently available at the following airports and rail terminals:

  • Gatwick
  • Heathrow
  • London City
  • Stansted
  • Edinburgh
  • Glasgow
  • Manchester
  • Paris, Brussels and Lille (rail terminals)

Other ports are being continually added.

Once accepted onto the scheme, business visitors will enjoy relaxed entry requirements into the UK. For example, at passport control, if visitors have a biometric passport they will be able to use the ePassport gates and won't have to fill in a landing card or undergo a credibility interview on each arrival.

How to apply

To application costs £70. This is made up of a £20 application fee and a £50 fee for 12 months' membership of the scheme. An online application form can be found at https://www.gov.uk/registered-traveller
