The new limits on employment tribunal awards and on statutory payments for 2013 have been announced.
Increases to maximum awards in employment tribunal cases have been announced:
- A week's pay will rise to £450 (from £430)
- The maximum basic award and statutory redundancy payment will rise to £13,500 (from £12,900)
- The maximum compensatory award for unfair dismissal will rise to £74,200 (from £72,300)
It is intended that these changes will apply to cases where the effective date of termination is on or after 1 February 2013.
New rates for statutory payments were announced on 27 December 2012. The following increases are proposed:
