Alistair works in the corporate department advising on all aspects of corporate law, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, shareholders' agreements, investments, corporate restructuring and compliance issues.
Alistair works with a variety of clients including private companies, listed plcs, venture capital investors, management teams and owner managed businesses. He has acts for numerous public/private sector joint ventures.
Recent project experience includes advising:
- Octopus Investments' Ventures team on over 50 VCT/EIS transactions over the past 2 years;
- MML Capital and portfolio company Hallmark Industries on four disposals in less than 18 months, including the £23.5m multijurisdictional disposal of their Zeag car park equipment and services business to FAAC S.p.A.;
- Autologic Holdings plc on a scheme of arrangement to effect its takeover by Stobart Holdings Limited;
- a large property investor/developer on the sale of a JPUT.
Having read law at the University of Sheffield, Alistair completed his LPC at Nottingham Law School with distinction. Alistair trained at Irwin Mitchell and joined Shoosmiths on qualification in September 2010.
