Anna has over 10 years experience advising on all aspects of planning, compulsory purchase and highways law, acting for a variety of public and private sector clients throughout her career. She has a lot of experience in negotiating planning obligations with complex cascade, review and clawback mechanisms, regularly advising on dovetailing planning obligations with other considerations such as CIL and planning conditions. Recent highlights include - Acting for Tendring District Council in successfully defending 7 conjoined planning appeals involving points around "enabling development" in the context of Grade I and II listed buildings - Advising Herefordshire Council on a series of interlinked compulsory purchase orders aimed at delivering comprehensive regeneration of the town centre. Two elements of the project are now operational - the flood alleviation scheme facilitating the development works along with the first stage of the City's Retail Quarter. - Acting for the developer on the 10,000 unit urban extension scheme at Northstowe in Cambridgeshire, providing a legal audit of the extensive planning application documentation prior to submission, and negotiating and concluding the complex s106 agreement for the first phase of the development. - Acting for the consortium promoting a 5,500 strategic housing extension in Peterborough, structuring and negotiating the s106 agreement - Providing legal planning advice to various national retailers in respect of their stores, advising in relation to onerous conditions and negotiating planning obligations and other statutory agreements
