Gerald is a construction lawyer with experience of acting for developers, contractors, subcontractors, consultants, institutional lenders and other construction and engineering professionals across a broad range of contentious and non-contentious matters.
Gerald advises clients on project procurement and provides advice in relation to standard and bespoke forms of contract, such as JCT, NEC and FIDIC, together with professional team appointments and associated warranties, novations, bonds and guarantees.
Gerald advises clients on contractual claims arising from standard and bespoke forms of contract, delay claims, professional negligence claims and defective design and workmanship disputes. Gerald is experienced in all forms of dispute resolution including litigation, adjudication and mediation.
Gerald has previously worked as senior in-house lawyer for a leading Irish M&E contractor, which gives a commercial perspective on disputes and negotiations.
His recent experience includes:
· Advising a developer on project procurement, preparing and negotiating contract documents (including amendments) together with professional appointments and associated warranties;
· Advising a developer on a professional negligence claim related to a large residential development;
· Advising a multi-national client on project procurement, preparing and negotiating contract documents (including amendments) in relation to the purchase, delivery and installation of mechanical handling equipment; and
· Advising a multi-national client on project procurement, preparing and negotiating letter of intent and contract documents (including amendments).
Gerald trained and qualified in the Republic of Ireland in 2011 and has subsequently obtained dual qualification as a Solicitor in England in Wales in 2016.
