Kirsty is a property litigation lawyer who specialises in all aspects of contentious property advice including business lease renewals, rent reviews, restrictive covenant issues, rights of occupation, landlord’s consents, dilapidations and service charge disputes and has particular experience in advising national retailers on their property portfolios.
Her recent experience includes
- applying to the Upper Tribunal (Lands Chamber) for discharge of a restrictive covenant limiting the use of the premises for a large national retailer;
- dealing with a strategy for unopposed and opposed lease renewals for a national retailers including working with the client on their internal processes to seek to achieve their aims;
- advising on a potential trespass claim in relation to a potential development site in London; and
- advising on security of tenure in relation to franchised properties.
She acts for a wide range of real estate clients, including investment landlords, developers and a number of retail tenants.
Kirsty has been senior associate in Shoosmiths' real estate litigation practice since June 2015, having joined the firm from Browne Jacobson where she trained and qualified. She is a member of the Property Litigation Association.
