Paul joined Shoosmiths in April 2017 followjng nearly 17 years at DWF LLP and has a broad range of experience in all aspects of commercial property and development. Paul acts for a large number of developer and investor clients on a wide range of matters including acquisitions and disposals, forward funding agreements, conditional contracts and the full range of asset management work. Paul also specialises in strategic land work including promotion, option, collaboration and equalisation agreements.

His recent experience includes:-

  • acting for St Modwen on Project Jennifer the regeneration and redevelopment of the Great Homer Street area of Liverpool in partnership with Liverpool City Council, anchored by a new Sainsburys store and petrol filling station
  • the sale of Towers Business Park, a prestigious office development in Didsbury acting for a large American fund
  • acting for a family trust on a collaboration/equalisation agreement with an adjoining landowner, and a conditional contract with a national housebuilder for the sale of a 130 acre site for residential development
  • acting on behalf of numerous landowners (over 15 different sites/locations) up and down the country on their promotion agreements with Gladman Developments Limited, and the subsequent sale of those sites to national housebuilders where planning permission is obtained
  • acting for Property Alliance Group/Ares in managing two investment portfolios, which include 21 sites across the country and a number of multi-let business parks/office developments
  • acting for Tapi Carpets & Floors in connection with their ambitious acquisition strategy to become the leading carpet/flooring retailer in the UK, acting on over 60 new stores throughout the UK, varying from existing or new build units on out of town retail parks, to existing high street stores and stores in large shopping centres
