Simon is a construction lawyer who advises on all aspects of construction and engineering law, including drafting and advising on contracts, appointments and warranties. He is experienced in dispute resolution, conducting litigation and adjudications and all forms of alternative dispute resolution.
His recent experience includes advising:
- a client on the termination of an engineering contractor's employment, and on the subsequent disputes. This involved four adjudications, a mediation, and a month long hearing in the Technology and Construction Court;
- a client on the contracts for the construction of a £380 million bio ethanol plant, the UK's largest;
- on the contracts for the construction of railway depots and a train manufacturing centre so the client could fulfill its obligation on a multi billion PFI project;
- a multi national client on the contracts for the design, installation and testing of a mechanized handling system for its internet retail operation.
Simon joined Shoosmiths in 2006, having previously worked at Wragge & Co and DAC Beachcroft.
