Stuart Angus is a Senior Associate Solicitor working in the residential conveyancing department having joined the department as a solicitor in December 2000.
Stuart is an experienced property solicitor with responsibility for our relationship with The ExtraCare Charitable Trust and various independent estate agents and brokers as well as looking after the overall management of transactions under his responsibility focusing on the technical requirements of those transactions.
Stuart manages a team that specialises in acting for elderly clients entering various types of retirement living schemes and supports Shoosmiths Wills Family and Wealth Protection department advising on property matters.
- An ongoing highlight for me is assisting our elderly clients in the legal process that sees them move into retirement villages built and run by the ExtraCare Charitable Trust and seeing and hearing afterwards how, for many, their moves have given them a new lease of life. The look of joy on the face of one of my clients, in her 80s, when she completed a tandem parachute jump for the charity is something that has and will live with me for many years to come.
Prior to joining Shoosmiths, Stuart was a Solicitor with Willson Hawley & Co (now Willsons Solicitors). Stuart graduated with a second class honours degree in Law from Manchester University prior to training as a solicitor.
Outside of work, Stuart also enjoys gardening, photography and walking.
