With the UK Representative Service, you can comply with your obligations under the UK GDPR to appoint a representative. This is needed for your processing of the personal data of UK customers and contacts. It’s quick and easy to subscribe, with a fixed fee that’s payable either annually or monthly.

When do you need a UK GDPR representative?
As a result of Brexit, the UK has adopted its own version of the GDPR with effect from 31 December 2020, known as ‘UK GDPR’.
If you are a private sector business with no physical presence in the UK, then under the UK GDPR you are likely to need to appoint a UK representative if you target your goods or services at UK individuals, or if you monitor the behaviour of UK individuals. This new legal requirement is mandatory, and failure to comply with it can result in large fines of up to £8.7M or (if higher) 2% of worldwide turnover.
Your UK representative’s primary role is to act as the point of contact for any issues relating to your processing of personal data in the UK. This includes communications with your UK customers and contacts, as well as with the UK privacy regulator, the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). Your UK representative must also keep a copy of your UK data processing inventory, known as your 'Record of Processing Activities', which you are required to create and maintain under the UK GDPR.

Once you have subscribed to the Service, you will have:
- 24/7 access to our secure online platform, providing full control of your data processing inventory records and any communications with the ICO or UK customers;
- immediate contact points with our team, staffed and supervised by trained data protection experts and UK qualified lawyers;
- a dedicated email address via our dataprivacyrep.com domain, for you to provide to your UK customers and contacts in your privacy policies and notices.

Our Fees
We provide the UK Representative Service for a fixed fee, which varies according to the size of your business (by reference to number of employed staff).
You can choose to pay annually or monthly – monthly fees are approximately one tenth of the annual fee. You can also choose whether to pay fees in US dollars, British pounds sterling or Euros.
