Equality and diversity

About this course

The Equality Act 2010 provides guidance on which individuals must be protected from discrimination.

Unlike unfair dismissal claims, compensation for acts of discrimination is unlimited. While such cases are rare, awards in excess of £1m have been made by English courts and tribunals in the past. Discrimination cases normally take a lot more time to be resolved than unfair dismissal claims, and can involve significant management time and legal costs, which are normally not recoverable.
