About this course
The Shoosmiths Academy provides professional executive one to one coaching for leaders & senior managers. This differs from formal training programmes as the intention is not to teach but to assist the coachee (person receiving the coaching) with their thinking by working together, in that the coach will look to explore a specific topic of the coachee’s choice.
Some example topics are:
- transition to a new role or organisational
- developing a personal profile
- leading an organisational change
- developing a new business concept
- managing a challenging relationship
- developing emotional intelligence
- improving personal effectiveness
- developing purpose and meaning
Through one-to -one dialogue and utilising evidenced based techniques such as cognitive based coaching, gestalt, psycho-synthesis, appreciative inquiry and solution focused coaching the coach will work closely with the coachee to achieve their desired goals and outcomes. The coach will work with the coachee over a series of sessions usually between 4 and 6, meeting at intervals of 4 to 6 weeks. Each session will last for a duration of between 1 -1.5 hours.
The content of the conversations is held in the strictest confidence. All Shoosmiths Academy Coaches adhere to the professional standards of the European Mentoring & Coaching Council (EMCC).
A written contract will be provided at the start of the coaching relationship which will include a full copy of the professional standards. As part of these professional standards all coaches receive supervision by an accredited supervisor.
